Number 9 Audio in Toronto suffered a terrible fire in December. Owner George Rondina has been a major contributor to the Canadian music industry and has recorded some of Canada's most successful artists.

Since 1981, Number 9 has been recording great Canadian artists like The Barenaked Ladies, David Clayton-Thomas, Amanda Marshall, Natalie MacMaster, Lawrence Gowan, Sarah Polley ("The Sweet Hereafter" soundtrack), Brent Carver, Rufus Wainwright, and many many more. The studio has also been a vital source of rental gear to producers and other studios for decades, and supplied equipment to The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Art Garfunkel, and Van Morrison.
