CIMA Announces ‘Make It Music’: A Future Imagination Summit for Canada's Music Entrepreneurs
The interactive event will take place from April 25-26, at Toronto’s Offworld.
The Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) is bringing the Canadian-owned independent music community together for their inaugural Make It Music Summit, a futures-focused forum aimed to inspire and empower attendees through global perspectives, cross-industry innovation and multidisciplinary thinking.
Make It Music will equip Canada’s independent music entrepreneurs with the knowledge and tools to stay ahead of the curve in today’s fast-paced tech driven marketplace. Disrupting the music conference model by approaching industry impacts and opportunities from an agnostic lens, CIMA’s new flagship event will address next gen music models, data, emerging tech, and other innovative approaches that lead to transformative change for music artists and the businesses that support them.
New York Times bestselling author and future forecaster Dr. Jane McGonigal will be kicking off the event, with further programming to include Julie Knibbe from Paris-based AI & data consultancy Music Tomorrow, Angela Dorgan from Ireland’s First Music Contact, and an exclusive session on branding from the Canadian Marketing Association.
The interactive event will take place from April 25-26, at Toronto’s Offworld (739 Queen St. W, Toronto), and will feature two days of highly curated content, exercises, and discussions, capped off with the Make It Music Awards, CIMA’s annual Recognition Awards celebrating Canada’s independent, Canadian-owned music sector.
Limited registration is now open and includes access to all sessions, premium food and drink experiences, take-home materials, and multiple industry networking opportunities.
Registration rates for members are $199 plus tax for early bird single registration, applicable to those who register before April 14, 2023, with regular single registration priced at $299 plus tax for those who register after April 14, 2023. The registration rate for non-members is $699 plus tax, but those who join CIMA before April 14, 2023 can access the exclusive member rate.
