Canadian Music Week announces the 42nd Annual Festival will take place June 1-8, 2024 in Toronto. CMW will once again host their premier music business, radio, and networking conferences at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, with the return of Radiodays North America on June 2-4, and Music Summit on June 3-5. The CMW Music Festival will host hundreds of acts in over a dozen venues June 1-8, 2024.

Canadian Music Week 2024 will also include the Jim Beam® Indie Awards, The Sync Awards, Canadian Live Music Industry Awards, and many more exciting events to be announced.

Now in its 42nd year, Canadian Music Week is Canada's leading annual entertainment event dedicated to the expression and growth of the country's music, media and entertainment industries. Combining multifaceted information-intensive conferences; a trade exposition; awards shows and the nation's largest new music festival.

Canadian Music Week, one of the nation’s largest new music festivals, promises a dynamic range of music with over 200 acts in over 25 venues from June 1-8. Celebrating more than four decades of musical innovation and showcasing, CMW 2024 will blend iconic headliners with fresh, upcoming talent, continuing its legacy as a launchpad for the next generation of stars.

Radiodays 2023

The second annual Radiodays North America conference will take place June 2-4 as part of Canadian Music Week at the Harbour Castle Westin Hotel. Keynotes will include Lorna Clarke, Director of Music at the BBC, and Vicky Eatrides, the Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer for the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission.

Over the past two decades, the International Marketplace trade activities at the CMW conference has introduced thousands of Canadian export-ready artists, entrepreneurs and SMEs to international music industry leaders and buyers, resulting in the development of new trade relationships. CAAMA’s 2024 SPOTLIGHT ON INDIA international trade activities include a Spotlight panel and pre-arranged, curated International Marketplace B2B on June 3. The 2024 SPOTLIGHT ON INDIA will explore the vast potential of international opportunities for India’s thriving music market - one of the most established worldwide – with more than 1,000 radio stations, 10M+ live events, 750+M phones with radio sets & music capability; 1,450 TV shows related to music; nine major music streaming platforms. The panel moderated by Jasper Donat, promises strategic insights for engaging with this vibrant market, offering fresh opportunities for access, revenue, and collaborative ventures across borders.

The Guild of Music Supervisors, Canada and CMW recently announced Patrick Watson will receive the inaugural Impact Award at this year’s Canadian Sync Awards on June 3. The Sync Awards celebrate the craft of Music Supervision and the Sync community in Canada.

Canadian Sync Awards 2023

“We are thrilled to host the Sync Awards at CMW once again in 2024! The Guild members look forward to seeing our fellow sync community colleagues alongside producers, filmmakers, directors, and editors to help celebrate the craft of music supervision and the achievements of our entire sync community”, says Michael A. “We’ve been talking about creating an Impact Award like this since our first Canadian Sync Awards in 2018. The GMSC is proud and honoured that Patric Watson is our first recipient.” Radiodays North America and CMW recently invited the broadcasting industry to nominate their colleagues for the Pat Grierson Radio Sales Person of the Year Award. The winner will be recognized at the Radiodays North America President Reception on June 3, and receive a $5,000 cash award. Pat Grierson was an icon in the Canadian radio broadcast sales sector known for his unique panache. The 1st Annual Allan Slaight Radio Sales Person of the Year honour was awarded in memory of Pat Grierson in 2023, and the award will now be known as the Pat Grierson Radio Sales Person of the Year Award. This annual award sponsored by Slaight Music will recognize a Canadian Radio sales professional for top notch performance.

Haviah Mighty

The 8th annual Canadian Live Music Industry Awards, hosted by prolific Canadian rapper Haviah Mighty on June 4, will celebrate the ingenuity, perseverance, and excellence demonstrated by live music companies, individuals, and organizations over the past year. The 21 categories include Best Teamwork in a Venue, Productions Manager of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, Legends of Live, and Community Impact. Jake Gold, original manager of The Tragically Hip and one of Canada’s most respected and successful artist managers, will be inducted into Canadian Music Week’s Music Industry Hall of Fame at the awards.

Finger Eleven

The 23rd Anniversary Jim Beam® INDIE Awards will take place June 6 at Danforth Music Hall in Toronto. Allison Russell, Charlotte Cardin, and The Beaches lead with four nominations each. Finger Eleven, nominated for Rock Artist/Group or Duo of the Year, will be closing out the Jim Beam® INDIES with a headline set.
